With each new release, Longview strives to elevate the user experience by empowering users to improve efficiencies, transparency, and processes. This Update enhances Longview CPM and Longview Tax by improving their open architecture platform to deliver greater functionality, usability, and performance. It offers better design and navigation, improved administrative editors and tools, and enhanced reporting capabilities. Longview 7.1 Update 3 also introduces support for mobile dashboards which enable users to view Longview Dashboards, Optix visualizations and web reports on Apple iPads.

The latest update includes functional enhancements in the following key areas:
- Smart Client Usability—Enhancements to the Longview Smart Client, a Longview platform component which combines powerful rich client functionality with easy web deployment, provides greater data grid capabilities with increased data entry and formatting options, new file browser options, and printing capabilities.
- Administrative Editors and Tools – For Longview Tax, a number of new editors and tools have been added to the product to create greater ease of use when administering system settings, currencies, interim accounts, users, and user groups.
- Usability – Enhanced end-user capability in the areas of analysis and reporting, including upgraded Optix charts, as well as more opportunities for Longview Tax users to export data to Excel spreadsheets for additional analysis. In addition, users now have the option of using the Longview for Excel component in a hosted or non-hosted environment, providing an alternative to installing additional components and reducing the requirement for Citrix.
