Tim Hortons selects London, Ontario to release Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks medium roast coffee
LONDON, ON, Sept. 10, 2015 /CNW/ - Coffee enthusiasts in London can now take a tasty trip around the world with the newest addition to the Tim Hortons Limited Batch portfolio – Colombian Three Peaks coffee, a medium roast coffee with a balanced and crisp taste. The new blend is the first of a series of coffees sourced from renowned growing regions around the world which are then custom roasted in limited batches by Tim Hortons Coffee Masters and introduced in select test cities for a limited time. Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks is available starting today for six weeks.
"A growing number of our Guests have appetites for discovery and variety, and see coffee as an affordable adventure," says David Clanachan, President and Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons Canada. "Our Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks is yet another offering in our expanding coffee portfolio. With the highly successful launch of Dark Roast last year – over a million cups served since it launched – it's evident Canadians are interested in trying new coffee blends from Tim Hortons."
Tim Hortons Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks originates from the Cauca mountain region in Colombia's Andean Valley, where some of the country's most fertile land is found. The unique soil, temperature variation and geography of the region come together to produce a special coffee bean with higher levels of acidity and very particular sweet notes.
Tim Hortons has an expert team of Coffee Masters who oversee the process from bean to cup to ensure Guests enjoy the same superior cup of coffee at every visit. While the Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks coffee is distinctly different from Tim Hortons Dark Roast, Original or Decaf coffees, the meticulous growing, roasting and brewing process is consistent across all blends.
"The Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks coffee was inspired by the unique growing conditions of the three mountain ranges and high altitude in Cauca, Colombia," says Kevin West, Senior Director, Coffee Operations, Tim Hortons. "The optimal environment has allowed us to capture the unique taste profile, offering a balanced and crisp taste."
Earlier this year, Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks coffee was available for a limited time in five markets across Canada including Abitibi, Quebec; Saint John and Moncton, New Brunswick and Sudbury and North Bay, Ontario.
