CALGARY, May 8, 2014 /CNW/ - The not-for-profit research funding
organization Genome Alberta is kicking off a 6 city road show on May 14th in Lethbridge to talk about the use of biotechnology in livestock
As genomics technology is applied more frequently in the livestock
sector a variety of societal, cultural, and economic issues are being

generally have a frank and open discussion about the technology.

by science journalist Jay Ingram. All the other sessions are in the
evening and are moderated by writer and broadcaster Don Hill. Each
session will feature an opening and comments from experts, followed by
a moderated Q & A, and then open to the audience to ask questions and
Genome Alberta has worked with the Science Media Centre of Canada to
prepare 4 background papers which will be available online and at the
events. Additional funding for the entire series was provided by the
Alberta Livestock and Meat Agency.
