LIMA to Establish Active Presence in Growing Canadian Market
Global licensing trade association to launch regional office in Canada May 3
TORONTO, April 18, 2016 /CNW/ -- Canada is the fifth largest market for trademark licensing in the world, according to data from the Annual LIMA Global Licensing Survey. To keep pace with this growing market, the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) – the global trade association for the industry – announces the establishment of LIMA Canada. Andrew Menceles, President of Toronto-based JAM Brands, Inc., has been named Director of LIMA Canada and will oversee its growth.
"Our goal is to unify licensing professionals in the Canadian market through the development of valuable regional educational and networking opportunities," said LIMA President Charles Riotto. "We are looking to reach not only those directly involved in licensing, but also those whose business is connected to our far-reaching industry."
LIMA Canada will officially launch on May 3 with a special inaugural event at the Westin Prince Hotel in Toronto from 6:00-9:00 pm. The event will feature a panel discussion with leaders in Canadian retail, marketing, law and education, and will introduce the LIMA Canada Board of Advisors, comprised of an impressive list of licensing executives.
