<p>BOCA RATON, Fla., <chron>Dec. 10</chron> /CNW/ -- Latitude Solutions, Inc. ("LSI" or the "Company") (Pink Sheets: LATI.PK), announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Latitude CleanTech Group, Inc., has entered into an agreement with <person>Robert Benko</person>, former Lead of Laboratory Services for Canadian National Resources Ltd. ("CNRL") Horizon Oil Sands Project and former Laboratory Supervisor for Suncor Energy Inc. <person>Mr. Benko</person>'s unique technical, environmental and first hand experience operating in the Alberta Oil Sands adds invaluable technical knowledge and background to support our recently announced strategic marketing agreement with DCR, Inc. of Alberta, <location>Canada</location>.</p>
<p/>
<p>Latitude CleanTech Group has accelerated its efforts to introduce and deploy its proprietary water treatment technology to address specific process and environmental issues related to the extraction of oil from the Oil Sands in Alberta.</p>
<p/>
<p><person>Mr. Benko</person>, Latitude CleanTech Group's Alberta-based Laboratory Services Director stated, "I recently observed a demonstration of Latitude CleanTech's technology along with other Oil Sands production company representatives. This technology has the potential to not only drastically reduce the need for long term storage of tailing ponds water with substantial savings to Oil Sands operators, but also can provide enormous positive environmental benefits."</p>
<p/>
<p>Various governmental agencies estimate that there is in excess of 170 billion barrels of recoverable bitumen (viscous, organic liquids similar in consistency to tar), which is upgradable into synthetic crude oil. Environmental regulations are rapidly becoming significantly more stringent on Oil Sands extraction operations. Thus Latitude CleanTech's clean water technology can play an extremely important role in the ongoing and increasing volume of oil being produced in the Oil Sands.</p>
<p/>
<p>Latitude CleanTech Group's Chief Executive Officer, Warren V. Blasland, stated, "<person>Mr. Benko</person> brings his unique, direct hands-on knowledge and understanding of the specific technical challenges of efficiently and effectively treating the large volumes of waste water resulting from large scale extraction operations. <person>Mr. Benko</person>'s expertise will be of great value to the specific designs of our water treatment plants for Oil Sands operations."</p>
