MONTREAL, May 11 2016 /CNW Telbec/- RestoMontreal, the city's online restaurant guide, is launching a free mobile app making it even easier for food lovers to find establishments of all kinds with their smartphone. To mark the occasion, this local business is organizing La Fête des restos, an event focused on giving back to the community, including a foodie benefit evening.
1 download = 6 meals for people in need
From May 20 to 27 2016, every time someone downloads the free RestoMontreal app (iOS or Android) $2 will be donated to the Food Banks of Quebec network. This amount enables community organizations in this province to hand out enough food to prepare six meals.
A unique gastronomic evening
"La Fête des restos aims to give to people in need, as well as celebrate our city's rich food culture," says Anthony Mustillo, director and co-founder of RestoMontreal. "We hope Montrealers will discover great restaurants by using our app. We also invite them to a benefit evening where various establishments, including several members of our website, will be serving their specialties."
On Monday, May 30, from 6 to 10:30 pm, attendees at this unique event will sample fare prepared by 11 establishments gathered at Terrasses Bonsecours, in Montreal's Old Port: Mercuri, Pintxo, Rib' n Reef, Bitoque, Diablos BBQ Smokehouse, Ikanos, Lola Rosa, Rasoi, Taste Italy, Heavenly Taste and Terrasses Bonsecours. A welcome cocktail will also be served.
Only 250 tickets are available, priced at $30 each on the Eventbrite website. Profits will be donated to the Food Banks of Quebec.
