Ki Celebrates 10 Years!

TORONTO, Sept. 28, 2015 /CNW/ - Ki Modern Japanese + Bar has been bringing exceptional Japanese cuisine and service to Toronto for the past ten years and is celebrating with a whole month of anniversary specials this October.

Ki Modern Japanese + Bar first opened it's doors in downtown Toronto in 2004 and a decade later they're still at it. Setting the bar high from the beginning, every detail from the decor to the food and extensive sake collection has been carefully selected to create a dynamic dining experience. Backed by a team of talented industry professionals, their passion has earned them a prominent culinary reputation.

"What has made this restaurant so successful are the personalities, the relationships and the spirit," says Executive VP of Operations Kelly Higginson.

A commitment to innovation and authenticity has guided menu development over the years and in honour of this milestone moment a special 'Past, Present and Future' menu will be on offer throughout October. Dishes blend traditional Japanese ingredients - shiso, ponzu, miso - with the latest modern influences - truffle oil, jalapeno, Ontario peach salsa - to chronicle Ki's culinary evolution. 

And in true Ki fashion, no celebration is complete without a nod to Japan's national beverage, sake. In partnership with Metropolitan Wine & Spirits, Ki will be hosting a Sake Master Dinner with Vine Connections on Wednesday, October 21. Vine Connections is a leader and educator in the world of premium sakes. They represent a diverse selection of sakes from some of Japan's oldest and most trusted sake experts.

Ki's National Sake Sommelier Michael Tremblay, a certified Advanced Sake Professional, will team up with Monica Samuels, the U.S. National Sake Sales Manager at Vine Connections, to host a five-course meal with sake pairings. The selection of sakes will highlight the many unique regions of Japan. Cocktails begin at 6:30pm with dinner to follow at 7:00pm. Tickets for this special evening are $160.

In appreciation of the years of customer support, Ki is also giving back this month. 10% of proceeds from the 'Past, Present and Future' menu, sushi platters and lunch bentos will be donated to Free The Children.
