It's Christmas at La Ronde to benefit Moisson Montréal

MONTREAL, July 23, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - For the first time, on July 25 and 26, La Ronde is celebrating... Christmas! That's right, Santa Claus has temporarily left his North Pole home to come and meet children who will visit La Ronde, and participate in our food drive to benefit Moisson Montreal, the largest food bank on the Island of Montreal.

All visitors who participate in the food drive by bringing 6 non-perishable food items will receive a coupon to obtain a daily ticket for $20.13 plus taxes (a saving up to 64%), applicable for all height levels. Important to note: this offer will only be valid on July 25 and 26, until 6 p.m. and admission is free for children 2 years or younger. "We want to thank La Ronde for this initiative which has the potential to replenish our warehouse, too bare during the summer months. If every one of the daily 10,000 visitors to La Ronde brings six non-perishable food items, thousands of families will be able to benefit immediately!" explains Dany Michaud, Executive Director at Moisson Montréal.

It will be the holiday season for two days at La Ronde! Between noon and 2 p.m., children will have the opportunity to meet the "real" Santa Claus who has decided to spend two days of vacation on Sainte-Hélène Island. As well, there will be free face painting for children plus a craft workshop. But as it is often the case, a killjoy character will be plaguing the park. Santa Claude, a very strange character who hates Christmas, will be wandering the park as he tries to spoil the festivities. Unfortunately for him, he will instead make visitors laugh and his complaints will impress no one! The demand for food support among the 200 organizations which are part of Moisson Montreal's network has increased by 26.5% since 2008. Every day, thousands of families rely on community organizations for their food needs. During the summer months, when schools are closed and food-aid programmes are on hiatus, non-perishable food items become a rare commodity while the demand remains high.
