IT PAYS TO PLAY: Hamilton Resident Wins $1 Million ENCORE Jackpot
TORONTO, July 21 /CNW/ - Hamilton resident Alessandro De Sivo is a spontaneous lottery player, so it was on the spur of the moment with some spare change in his pocket that he decided to buy a LOTTO 6/49 ticket and pay an extra $1 for ENCORE. Good thing he did, because his numbers came up in the July 14, 2010 draw and he won the $1 million ENCORE jackpot.
"It's a good think I spent that loonie," said De Sivo, who drove straight to the Toronto Prize Centre after validating his ticket on Friday morning. "It's been a crazy, crazy morning!"
De Sivo, 32, has spent the last few years studying real-estate in pursuit of his property development dreams, and says that this win will hopefully allow him to start his own business.
"I'm going to use this to invest and make some more money. This way it will continue to pay me in the future!" said De Sivo.
ENCORE can be played in conjunction with any printed lottery game for an additional fee of $1. There is an ENCORE draw every day.
The winning ticket was purchased at Peter's Variety on Queenston Road in Hamilton.
