Invitation to attend - 10 years of medical marijuana distribution in
Montreal, compassion refuses to back down or forget

MONTREAL, Sept. 29 /CNW Telbec/ - On October 1st 1999, during a packed press conference, Louise-Caroline Bergeron and Caroline Doyer announced the opening of Montreal's first medical marijuana dispensary, located directly in front of a policestation.

A few months later, Marc-Boris St-Maurice and a colleague were arrested for trafficking. The subsequent trial, and eventual acquittal, launched the debate on medical use of marijuana that pushed the government to create the medical marijuana access program.

To mark this 10-year milestone, a press conference is scheduled for this Wednesday, September 30th at 10am at the Montreal Compassion Center, 72 Rachel East, during which we will be welcoming several people who helped launch the Project.

We will also be celebrating the first anniversary of the opening of Quebec City's one and only medical marijuana dispensary.

    Attending:

    Louise-Caroline Bergeron
    Caroline Doyer
    Shantal Arroyo
    Marc-Boris St-Maurice
    The Quebec Compassion Centers' team
