Government of Canada provides financial support for The GATE
TORONTO, March 17, 2014 /CNW/ - Bernard Trottier, Member of Parliament
(Etobicoke-Lakeshore), today announced $19,000 in funding for digital
publisher The GATE on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
The Government of Canada has provided funding through the Business
Innovation component of the Canada Periodical Fund to help The GATE in its plans to increase its exposure to new markets.
The GATE magazine's content focuses on entertainment, travel, gaming, and
The Canadian periodical industry, which includes magazines and
newspapers, generates more than $6.8 billion in revenue annually.
The Department of Canadian Heritage operates the Canada Periodical Fund,
a $75-million program for Canadian print magazines, non-daily
newspapers, and digital periodicals.
