International Award Winning Morgan Waters and celebrated Canadian comedian Mark Little attach to series slated for Mipcom at Cannes
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4, 2012 /CNW/ - Comedian actors Morgan Waters, a two-time Gemini Award winner, and Mark Little, a Canadian Comedy Award nominee, have attached to principal roles for "House Sitters," a new comedy TV show from producer Mark Satterthwaite.
Catherine Tait, President of the independent production company Duopoly, is pitching "House Sitters" at Mipcom this month. "It's never been a more exciting time for content producers," she says.
Satterthwaite, known for producing Cartoon Network's "Almost Naked Animals" and Teletoon's "The Dating Guy," said, "I've been working with Canada's top comedic talents to bring their starring vehicles to TV. Working with an actor/comedian to get a concept right is exhilarating. Part of my job is to keep that integrity and to pitch a show to studios and networks to make sure they're palatable for the public."
The buddy sitcom "House Sitters" is about a hapless duo that find themselves in hilarious situations while tending to different house sitting jobs. Satterthwaite wrote, produced and directed the pilot episode, which can be screened at: http://regattafilms.com/housesitters.php
Waters is known for acting on the hit CBC series "The Morgan Waters Show" and for his role of Reginald Van Gunn on the IFC show, "Cock'd Gunns."
Little is known for acting in the role of Simon Hunt on CBC's sitcom "Mr. D." He's acted on the ensemble comedy TV series, "Picnicface" and has appeared on the series "Call Me Fitz" starring Jason Priestley. Earlier this year, Little starred in the film, "Roller Town."
Satterthwaite confirmed he's also attached comedian actors Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus for another show he's producing, "You and Me Both," which centers on an entrepreneurial couple that helps fledgling companies, but discover it's their own relationship that needs assistance.
Baram acted in the feature films "Take This Waltz" starring Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen, "The Love Guru" starring Mike Myers and Jessica Alba, "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" starring Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman and "Repo Men" starring Jude Law and Liev Schreiber.
Snieckus, a Canadian Comedy Award nominee, played Nina in "Saw 3D: The Final Chapter" and has acted in the Syfy series "Alphas."
