PIERREFONDS-ROXBORO, QC, Oct. 25, 2023 /CNW/ - Montrealers are invited to take part in the 2nd edition of the Intercultural Encounters of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, presented throughout the month of November 2023.
A dozen free activities, lectures and shows will celebrate the richness and diversity of our community, and showcase the contributions of citizens of all origins.
An engaging and compelling program
A Haitian story presented by Dieuvela Etienne; a living library where you can 'borrow' someone who will share their story; workshops on making Diwali candles and West African masks; Kattam et ses tams-tams, a family show that takes you on a voyage of discovery through Africa, the Middle East and India; a traditional dress parade; a lecture by Garhianna Jean-Louis on inclusive behaviour... and much more!
Shining a light on diversity
These intercultural encounters are an invitation to bring cultures closer together, while encouraging openness to the world, dialogue between people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and the discovery of modes of expression from all over the world.
The events are presented at the Pierrefonds Library, the Pierrefonds Cultural Centre and the Gerry-Robertson Community Centre.
The Pierrefonds-Roxboro Intercultural Encounters are presented in collaboration with the Table de quartier du Nord de l'Ouest-de-l'Île (TQNOIM) and 10 local community organisations.
