Presentation Description:

Come listen to Jackie Brock-Doyle, OBE, Director of Communications & Public Affairs for the London 2012 Organizing Committee speak about her incredible international experience and how she created inspiring and strategic communications plans using many of the tools you use every day. Jackie has designed and directed communication, media and sponsorship programmes for some of the world's biggest brands and events in countries across the world, including Visa International, the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Cadbury and the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games. She was also head of Public Relations and Media Relations during London's successful bid for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Jackie's presentation will focus on her two passions in communications:

  • the importance of vision and providing inspiring strategic communications that reach well beyond the marketing efforts of a company
  • the integration of strategic communications into tactical pieces like social media, crisis plans and government relations work

Jackie Brock-Doyle's Biography:

Jackie has been involved with the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games for a decade. She was one of the first people hired to work on the bid in May 2003 as Head of Public & Media Relations. Following the successful bid, Jackie became Director of Communications & Public Relations; a job she still holds now during the final wrap up months.

Jackie has also been involved in other major sporting events. For example, Jackie created and directed communications campaigns for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games including the Olympic Torch Relay, the Ticket Marketing Programme, the Volunteer Recruitment Programme and the National Education Programme. She also directed communication leveraging programmes for some of the leading sponsors of the Sydney Games, including Westpac Banking Corporation, AMP, Cadbury, Samsung, Coca-Cola and Swatch.

For the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games Jackie directed the communications, marketing and media relations programme as well as issues management.  She has also created communication strategies for the Commonwealth Games Federation and for the Doha 2006 Asian Games Committee.

Jackie was winner of PR Week Awards 2012's PR Professional of the Year as well as winner of Campaign of Year for the London 2012 campaign.
