World leader in outdoor power tools hosts interactive half-time shows to offer best in field experience
MISSISSAUGA, ON, July 20, 2016 /CNW/ - Husqvarna, the world's largest producer of outdoor power products and market leader in robotic mowing, is the official and exclusive lawn partner for the 2016 season with three Canadian Major League Soccer Clubs (MLS): Toronto FC, Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Throughout the season, Husqvarna is launching half-time activations at select games to create an interactive experience for fans. Participants will be invited from the sidelines to join MLS representatives on the field for their own soccer match. While equipped with a Husqvarna 436LiB professional-grade battery leaf blower, participants will be challenged to score goals using the blower to direct an inflated soccer ball. Winners will be awarded Husqvarna products so they can enjoy the high performance tools at home.

Key activation dates include:
- July 31, 2016: Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew SC
- August 3, 2016: Toronto FC vs. Real Salt Lake
- August 12, 2016: Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. San Jose Earthquakes
In addition to the half-time excitement, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Husqvarna are partnering on a new campaign called Trees for Goals. For every goal the Vancouver Whitecaps FC score during 2016 home matches, Husqvarna is committing to the planting of 100 Pine and Spruce trees within British Columbia to show the organization's commitment to sustainability of resources within the forestry industry it works in.
Husqvarna and soccer fans at home can also join in on the action. Husqvarna will be hosting a Facebook contest encouraging Canadians to submit photographs of their home turf and maintenance crew for a chance to win tickets to a game for one of the three participating MLS Canadian clubs.
