/CNW/ - Combined January sales of 6,393 units by the Honda and Acura divisions represented a 15% decline over last year. The Honda Automobile Division reported December sales of 5,677 units, down 12% from last year. The Acura Division reported January sales of 716 units, down 35% from last year.
"Despite our sales being down this month, we picked up momentum in the last 10 days with the introduction of our new 'Winter Warm-Up Event' marketing campaign that includes new financing rates of 0.9 per cent on three of our most popular models - Civic, CR-V and Accord," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda

Inc. "Canadians are responding positively to this new campaign, which we expect to generate stronger sales in February."

last year were built at the two Honda of

Mfg. plants in Alliston, Ontario.
