The auction is scheduled to open September 23, 2009, and close September 30, 2009. Properties from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will be in the auction. Feature properties include three Calgary area acreages each with development potential, as well as two executive Calgary residences.
Barrie Jung, President of Hodgins, is also pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Johnson as Hodgins' National Real Estate Sales Manager. Mr. Johnson's experience includes sales and marketing of real estate, insurance and heavy trucks. He has been recruited to grow the sale of real estate by auction for Hodgins on a national scale.
According to studies by the National Auctioneers Association, approximately $58.6 billion of real estate changed hands by auction in the United States in 2008.
Mr. Johnson stated "I am excited about the potential of the sale of real estate by both live and online auctions. With a Canadian population base of approximately 10 percent that of the US, there is a lot of room for expansion of the real estate auction industry."
