Harry Rosen Unveils New Flagship Store in TD Square at The CORE September 3,
2010
Five exclusive designer shops including Tom Ford
CALGARY, Sept. 2 /CNW/ - Harry Rosen's western flagship store in TD Square at The CORE, Calgary's only downtown shopping centre, will celebrate its grand opening on September 3, 2010 with over 30,000 square feet of state-of-the-art menswear retail space and six designer shop-in-shops including a first for Calgary - an exclusive Tom Ford shop.
The new store - in a premium location within high-traffic in TD Square at The CORE - features six designer shop-in-shop environments, with five of them being exclusive to Harry Rosen in Calgary. The addition of the Tom Ford Menswear shop truly proves Calgary's place of importance in the global luxury market. Other shops that are exclusive to Harry Rosen in this market include Ermenegildo Zegna, Brunello Cucinelli, Canali and Hugo Boss. The store will also feature an Armani Collezioni shop-in-shop.
"This new store is the result of many years of hard work and highlights the finest design concepts and materials in the retail industry today," said Larry Rosen, CEO and Chairman of Harry Rosen Inc. "I'm personally very proud to call this store our western flagship and to offer the men of Calgary the finest assortment of men's apparel in the country."
In addition to the official brand-specific shops, the expanded store will see an extended shoe collection that includes Salvatore Ferragamo and Prada collections; a large accessories area; a comprehensive jeanswear shop with a wide assortment of top denim brands; and a fashion-forward enclave featuring brands like Etro and Dolce & Gabbana.
The new store showcases the latest thinking in energy efficient retail lighting. For example, CMH lights of only 35 watts produce the light levels of 90 watt bulbs, and the latest LED lights are only 13 watts each. This unique lighting system is mounted in the ceiling in a way that allows the versatility of track lighting in a more discreet setting.
The Armani shop features a new concept for the iconic Italian brand, and the first of its kind in Canada, utilizing limestone, varnished metal and rosewood. The most exotic finishings can be found in the ultra-luxurious Tom Ford shop: macassar ebony, antique bronze, dark grey ultra suede and a light grey mist mirror.
Slated for a late September opening, Harry Rosen will add a brand new second Calgary location with a nearly 10,000 square foot suburban store at Chinook Centre, to further service the luxury needs of Calgarians. The expansion in the Calgary market will add approximately 40-50 new positions to the company this year.
The downtown Calgary store in TD Square originally opened in March 1984 with just over 7,000 square feet. With two renovations since then in 1993 and 1998, it doubled in size to its current 18,000 square feet. As such, the store has enjoyed significant annual sales increases over the years, with sales doubling in the past five years alone, making it one of the most important flagship locations in the company.
