Prize Claim Subject to Insider Win Process
TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Myungsu You of Hamilton is one step closer to claiming his lottery win of the $16.1 million jackpot from the LOTTO 6/49 draw on June 30, 2012. Mr. You's winning ticket shared the $32 million
jackpot with another winning ticket from Brantford, which was claimed
on July 4, 2012.
As Mr. You is the owner of an OLG retail location in Hamilton, this
prize falls within OLG's definition of an Insider Win. OLG retailers
are prohibited from playing the lottery at their place of work. Mr.
You's ticket was purchased at Metro Centre Mall on Barton St in Hamilton.
This prize claim has completed the first step of a two-step Insider Wins
process. An independent investigation of the claim was undertaken by a
third-party, working in partnership with OLG's regulator the Alcohol
and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
To complete the prize claim, the prize will now be held for a 30-day waiting period, starting today February 20, 2013. This is part of OLG's Insider Wins process, in order to communicate
the win to the community through the news media. If there are no
additional claims on this prize, it will be paid to the claimant on March 22, 2013 based on this 30-day wait period.
