VANCOUVER, Dec. 10 /CNW/ - Golden Predator Royalty & Development Corp. (TSX:GPD) (the "Company") is pleased to report assays from an additional eight diamond drill holes completed this summer on the North Slope and Blue zones at its Brewery Creek project, located approximately 55 km to the east of Dawson City in the Yukon Territory. The Company's 2009 drilling program at Brewery Creek targeted both shallow oxide and deeper sulphide gold mineralization. Drilling on the Pacific, North Slope and Blue zones tested for potentially higher grade gold mineralization as well as possible bonanza grade feeder structures beneath previously mined areas. Results from the first five holes from the Pacific zone were reported by the Company on October 15, 2009.

Brewery Creek is located in the Tintina Gold Belt in the Yukon Territory where the Company is actively exploring for world class gold deposits. Brewery Creek was the site of a heap leach gold mine which operated from 1996-2002 and produced 279,541 ounces of gold. Current resources remaining on the property include an Indicated Resource of 3.98 million tonnes grading 1.135 gpt gold and an Inferred Resource of 2.2 million tonnes averaging 2.01 gpt Au (Diment and Simpson, 2009).

The North Slope drilling program was designed to test a deep sulphide target on the Brewery Creek project. This target is unique to other mineralized zones on the property in that mineralization has been identified in calcareous siltstones and sandstones of the Ordovician-Silurian Steel Formation and within re-worked Menzie Creek volcanic rocks, rather than quartz monzonite sills, which host gold mineralization elsewhere on the property. North Slope shares many similarities to Carlin-style mineralization including decalcification and silicification of the host rocks.

Five of the eight holes were drilled on the North Slope zone to bracket mineralization identified during Viceroy's 1996 exploration program, which returned 13.8 m of 2.8 gpt Au in DD96-85 at 975 m elevation. Significant intercepts from the 2009 North Slope drill program include 20.17 gpt gold over 1.90 m (243.62 to 245.52 m) from hole BC09-137; 4.72 gpt Au over 9.71 m (263.86 to 273.57 m) including 6.86 gpt Au over 4.26 m from BC09-139; and 4.02 gpt Au over 2.00 m (425.30 to 427.30 m) from BC09-140 (see Table below). These intercepts have extended mineralization over a down-dip distance of approximately 330 m (110 m to the NNW and 220 m to the SSE of DD96-85) and 130 m to the west. The orientation of this zone appears similar to that found along the mine trend: a shallow south dipping zone complicated by post mineralized faulting. The mineralization in this area is primarily concentrated in the Menzie Creek volcanic sequences, with sections of anomalous gold (100-500 ppb) hosted within fault prepared areas of the calcareous siltstone units. The Company is now planning its 2010 field program, which will be designed to further delineate this higher grade mineralized zone.

Drilling at the Blue zone tested two targets: (i) a possible NW-SE trending fault responsible for a steep zone of (greater than)5 gpt Au mapped in the pit wall and a concentration of high grade gold in the previously mined Blue pit (drill holes BC09-142 and 143), and (ii) a suspected repeat of the fold structure to the south of the open pit thought to focus gold mineralization in the area (drill hole BC09-144). Highlights from the 2009 Blue zone drill program include 4.06 gpt gold over 8.81 m (45.00 to 53.81 m) including 7.81 gpt gold over 2.81 m from hole BC09-142 and 2.64 gpt over 7.6 m (154.4 to 162.16 m) from hole BC09-144 (see Table below). Holes BC09-142 and 143 intercepted gold mineralization immediately adjacent to the NW-SE trending fault. Hole BC09-144 intersected two zones of mineralization of nearly equal thickness suggesting either folded stratigraphy or a repeat of mineralization caused by post mineralizing faulting.

Recently completed drilling on the Brewery Creek property targeted resource expansion of the oxide mineralization in the un-mined Lower Fosters zone. Assays from this phase of the Company's 2009 Brewery Creek program are pending and will be released when available.

Quality Assurance - Quality Control

ACME Analytical Laboratories of Vancouver, B.C. performed all sample preparation and analyses. Core samples were logged and sampled at the project site under the supervision of the project geologist and then expedited in sealed bags to Whitehorse where they were shipped via common carrier to Vancouver. After being received and logged in at the laboratory, a 2 kg split of core was dried then crushed to 80% -10 mesh. A 250 g split was then pulverized to 85% -200 mesh. A 15 g split of each sample was analyzed by ICP-MS after aqua regia digestion to yield a 37 element scan. All samples yielding greater than 500 ppb gold then underwent a 30 g fire assay with an ICP-ES finish.

QA/QC procedures followed for the diamond drilling program include submittal of assay standards for analysis approximately every 30 samples as well as a blank and a duplicate sample of quarter core at approximately the same frequency.

All assays are reported as drilled widths not true widths. Ken Galambos, P.Eng, Senior Project Geologist is the Qualified Person for the Company's Brewery Creek project and is responsible for the technical content of this news release.

About Golden Predator Royalty & Development Corp.

Golden Predator's corporate mandate is to establish a self-funded precious metals exploration company.

The Company is focused on exploring for and developing world class gold deposits in the Yukon's Tintina Gold Belt, where the Company is aggressively exploring its Gold (Scheelite) Dome, Antimony Mountain, Clear Creek and the Brewery Creek projects.
