Go Bike Montréal Festival presents Vancouver - Green City, Cycling City!, a lecture by Dale Bracewell

MONTREAL, May 29, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of the Go Bike Montréal Festival, Vélo Québec is proud to present Vancouver – Green City, Cycling City!, a lecture by Dale Bracewell, Manager, Transportation Planning, City of Vancouver.

The saying "Build it and they will come" takes on its full meaning in Vancouver, known throughout North America for its pro-cycling initiatives. The installation of protected bike lanes in 2010 transformed the downtown core, highlighting the utilitarian value of cycling, over and above its benefits as a recreational pursuit. This approach stands apart for its practical yet avant-garde vision of mobility and its concern for esthetics. The resulting high-quality facilities have increased bicycle use in Vancouver and blended naturally into the landscape of this green city.

During this talk, Mr. Bracewell will address Vancouver's cycling strategy within the context of its Transportation 2040 Plan.

Date: Thursday, June 1
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Place: Grande Bibliothèque Auditorium (475 De Maisonneuve Blvd. E.)
Free admission
