Get Mapped: Dermalogica® Launches Face Map Our Nation

The Face Mapping® process is quick, painless, and offered exclusively by Dermalogica® trained skin therapists free of charge at authorized Dermalogica® skin centre locations. The unique concept is based on Eastern Chinese medicine that divides the face, neck and décolleté into 14 zones, and allows the therapist to observe and note specific conditions in each area of the face. According to this system, activity in the skin of these facial zones reflects the condition and activity within the body and entire being. In combination with this methodology, professional skin therapists are informed of each client's lifestyle and habits that can affect skin health including smoking, tanning, stress levels, activity etc. This complete skin analysis is given under magnification, using sanitized, ungloved hands, to detect subtle nuances in the skin such as congestion, heat and excess sebum. Findings are recorded on a visual "map" of the client's face, creating a graphic document which allows the therapist to monitor the skin's condition and evaluate progress in areas of concern during future treatment visits. Once Face Mapping® has been completed the client receives a copy of this customized skin map which acts as a guide on where to apply products to optimize skin health.
