Federal Government Moves to Decriminalize Sewage Pollution

TORONTO, OTTAWA, VANCOUVER, May 20 /CNW/ - Waterkeepers across Canada are alarmed by Environment Canada's proposed Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulation, which would decriminalize sewage discharges that are currently illegal under the Fisheries Act. The regulation gives sewage plants up to 30 years to comply with standards meant to protect our lakes and rivers.
