First Capital Realty is Revitalizing Yorkville by Bringing an Exciting Roster of New Retailers
to Toronto's Key Luxury Retail and Hospitality Destination
TORONTO, May 8, 2017 /CNW/ - Located in one of Canada's most prestigious neighbourhoods, Yorkville Village, owned by First Capital Realty (FCR), today announced new tenants and retailers coming to the redeveloped shopping centre in 2017 including; the US and Canadian cult-favourite spin studio Soul Cycle, luxury British sportswear brand Belstaff and Italian fashion house Eleventy.
Adding to the incredible array of existing concepts and retailers, Yorkville Village is set to become a go-to destination for guests and foodies alike with the opening of a new full-service restaurant, Palm Lane, by The Chase Hospitality Group (The Chase, Kasa Moto, Colette, and Planta) in late Summer 2017. The restaurant will have a strong focus on lunch but will also serve breakfast and dinner in both its take-out/café area and in the full-service seated area.
The mall component of Yorkville Village (formerly known as Hazelton Lanes) has undergone a dramatic revitalization led by FCR, transforming the centre into an entirely new shopping, dining and lifestyle destination with new and exclusive retailers joining the existing roster of tenants. In total, FCR has invested approximately $600 million in the Bloor-Yorkville area with a portfolio that now includes 400,000 square feet of space comprised of the mall, street front retail properties on Yorkville Avenue (future locations for Chanel and Jimmy Choo among others) and the retail component of One Bloor at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor.
"Our significant investment in the redevelopment of Yorkville Village reflects the transformation underway in the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood," said Adam Paul, President and Chief Executive Officer, First Capital Realty Inc. "This transformation is being driven by the demographic tailwind that will see a meaningful increase to the local population and consequently the evolution of Bloor-Yorkville as a larger, stronger world-class retail destination in which Yorkville Village is very well positioned."
