Equity Financial Holdings Inc. Reports Results of Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders

TORONTO, June 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Equity Financial Holdings Inc. (TSX: EQI) ("Equity" or the "Corporation"), which offers residential mortgage loans through its wholly-owned subsidiary Equity Financial Trust Company ("Equity Trust"), today announced the voting results from its Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders (the "Meeting") held on May 28, 2015.

During the Meeting Stephen Griggs, Chair of the Board, thanked Glen Silvestri, who did not stand for re-election due to other business commitments, for his contribution to the Board over the past year.

Shareholders also approved the re-appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as the Corporation's independent auditors and authorized the Board to fix their remuneration. A Special Resolution was put forward by the Corporation asking Shareholders to approve an amendment to its articles to increase the maximum number of directors from ten to fifteen. The Special Resolution was approved by the Shareholders and, as a result, Peter Friedmann was elected with 5,746,458 or 99.57% votes for and 24,997 or 0.43% votes withheld as the eleventh member of the Board of Directors.
