CALGARY, Jan. 27, 2016 /CNW/ - It's that time of year when many Albertans are focused on managing their costs, including their energy bills. Today, ENMAX Energy launched a new personalized tool called My Energy IQ™ to help Albertans take better control of their energy use and costs. The program, an Alberta first, features dynamic tools to make smarter energy choices.
"We have heard from our customers that they want to better understand and control their energy use," said Gianna Manes, ENMAX President and CEO. "With My Energy IQ™, they can now take advantage of the reports, tips and tools full of great information to make meaningful changes to their energy consumption."
The My Energy IQ™ program is a value-added benefit offered to most ENMAX Energy residential and small business customers. It consists of an online portal, tangible tools and customizable reports that answer questions like:
- How do I use energy and what can I do to save money over time?
- How does my energy use compare to other nearby homes?
- How can I update my information to create my personal energy savings plan and receive tips tailored to my home?
- If I make some changes, how can I tell if they're making a difference?
The My Energy IQ™ software, new to Alberta and created by Opower, is used by over 95 utilities around the world, resulting in the following savings:
- 8 billion kilowatt hours of energy
- $1 billion on utility bills
- Over 3.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide
