MONTRÉAL, March 3, 2017 /CNW/ - A penalty hearing has been scheduled before a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) in the matter of Ali Reza Sultani.
The Hearing Panel will consider the appropriate penalties to be imposed as a result of their decision dated February 7, 2017 which found Mr. Sultani liable for violating IIROC Rules. The Hearing Panel found that Mr. Sultani made, on at least four occasions, misrepresentations about the reasons and timing for the termination of his previous employment with CIBC Securities Inc. in order to be hired for a new position with RBC Direct Investing Inc., going so far as to falsify a document to this effect.
The Hearing Panel's liability decision is available at http://docs.iiroc.ca/DisplayDocument.aspx?DocumentID=2236395EA72C481E91FC101EAC6BADBB&Language=en.
The penalty hearing is open to the public, unless the Hearing Panel orders otherwise. The decision of the Hearing Panel will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.
