BCAA makes 50 Best Employers list for fourth consecutive year
BURNABY, BC, Jan. 6 /CNW/ - For the fourth straight year, the British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) has been named one of Canada's 50 Best Employers, as published in the Globe and Mail's Report on Business Magazine. BCAA, which employs just over 1,000 people across B.C., joins five other B.C.-based organizations on this year's national 50 Best Employers list.
The prestigious annual list, compiled by international HR consultants Hewitt Associates, is unique in that employees - based on a comprehensive opinion questionnaire - determine which organizations make the list. The study measures employee engagement, not just satisfaction or employee programs. The survey has become increasingly competitive since it was first published in 2000.
"British Columbians consistently tell us that the BCAA brand stands for trust, and we know that our employees are one of the primary reasons for that," says BCAA President & CEO, Tim Condon. "Our members and customers trust us to deliver exceptional service and value, delivered by highly-engaged employees."
"Going forward, BCAA remains committed to maintaining an enriching and supportive work environment," adds Condon. "We will make every effort to challenge our employees, provide opportunities for development and recognize employees for their achievements."
The 2010 study collected information from more than 100,000 employees and 1,200 leaders at more than 200 organizations across Canada. For more details on the survey, visit www.hewitt.com/bestemployerscanada.
BCAA is the largest organization of its kind in B.C., with over 100 years experience and gross annual sales of nearly $400 million from its membership, insurance and travel businesses. A BCAA Membership can be found in the wallets of nearly 790,000 British Columbians and in one-in-four B.C. households. For the past two years, BCAA has received the highest score in Canada for home insurance customer satisfaction in a J.D. Power and Associates study. And, for the past four years, BCAA has been named one the 50 Best Employers in Canada by international HR consultants Hewitt Associates and the Globe & Mail's Report on Business magazine.
