EDMONTON, July 13 /CNW/ - Dr. Brian Wong is out to change lives by offering free smiles to anyone who needs dental work, as he hosts the latest event for Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) on July 17, 2010.
The media is invited to join, Drs. Brian and Brandon Wong and volunteers to help 100 people in need of dental work - treating patients in need of fillings, extractions and cleanings. Over the past 4 years Dr. Brian Wong has helped many patients in need, but this event will be the first conducted with his twin brother Dr. Brandon Wong.
Dentistry From The Heart is a national non-profit organization with a simple mission - making people smile. Founded in 2001 by a Dr. Vincent Monticciolo in New Port Richey, Florida, DFTH was created to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-insured Americans. Over 100 million Americans alone lack dental insurance, and over 29 percent of adults have untreated cavities. Without events like DFTH, dental care simply isn't an option for those less fortunate. To date, DFTH has helped more than 30,000 patients and provided over $5.5 million in dental care.
"Now more than ever, I know of people out there that need our services, but have no means to afford them - whether they're out of a job, or facing other challenges. Dentistry From The Heart is our way of giving back to the community, and helping people who are in urgent need of dental care," said Dr. Brian Wong.
The event will take place on July 17 at Dr. Wong's practice in Old Strathcona - at 301-8225-105 St. in Edmonton. Starting at 9:00 AM, Drs. Brian and Brandon Wong and their volunteers will treat the first 100 patients, or however many they can treat by 5:00 PM. For more information, visit www.dentistryfromtheheart.org.
