Dress Code Means Kids Are Equal, Yet Individuals

Navy&Whitewear Prepared to Dress Over 40,000 TCDSB Elementary Students

TORONTO, Aug. 4 /CNW/ - Canadian school uniform manufacturer and retailer, InSchoolwear Inc., is poised to meet the needs of over 40,000 elementary school children in the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), required to attend school wearing navy and white attire as a result of the TCDSB's new Appropriate Dress Code Initiative. InSchoolwear announced today it has launched its new brand, Navy&Whitewear. This high quality, affordable line of year round navy and white clothing is comfortable and casual and represents the latest trends that school kids yearn for. It was created using an assortment of modern styles and appropriate sizing for children from junior kindergarten through to grade eight. These items are now available at the company's retail location in Leaside at 10 Brentcliffe Road and plans are underway to open next week its first store dedicated to providing only navy and white clothing, conveniently situated at 567 Dupont Street (corner of Manning and Dupont, across from Loblaw).

This is a focused expansion for the retailer, which has been manufacturing and selling school uniforms since 1995. The new inventory connects directly with quality levels characteristic of InSchoolwear products, but will have a vast array of up to date clothing pieces especially for students required to wear only navy and white. It includes various styles of shorts, pants, skirts, dresses, blouses, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, outer-wear, active-wear, as well as shoes, socks and other accessories, all available at a range of price points. A twenty per cent discount will apply to all first time purchases.

"We are proud of our attention-to-detail-designs and understand parents need easy care fabric," said Kirstin Broatch, Managing Director of InSchoolwear. "We are keeping up with changes in fashion, while providing an entire store of navy and white clothing. InSchoolwear's commitment to parents' needs means maximizing convenience for those who want a variety of navy and white clothing. The new Navy&Whitewear store will be a shopping destination where parents and students can find all the looks and styles they are accustomed to wearing, and they meet the Appropriate Dress Code."

There are over 61,000 elementary students in the TCDSB, and all must adhere to the Board's dress code policy by September 2011. Some schools within the TDCSB currently follow a Uniform Dress Code, by wearing specific dress items, while others have already adopted the Appropriate Dress Code, with students following the chosen navy and white colour scheme.
