CALGARY, Jan. 6 /CNW/ - Fabutan, Canada's largest indoor tanning company, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a series of promotions and contests for everyone.
From January 2 to 31, Fabutan customers will be able to receive 30 percent more minutes with the purchase of any regular priced tanning package; or they can receive no enrollment fee on a Gold Card, Fabutan's monthly membership during January.
Between January 2 and March 31, everyone is also invited to visit Fabutan and pick up a contest card for Fabutan's 30th Anniversary Contest, running online at Fabutan.com (no purchase required). Some of the golden prizes include:

- A trip for two to meet and see The Black Eyed Peas live in concert in
- 350 Universal Music download cards (each card will contain 30 songs)
- Five "sun-themed" DVD gift packages from Alliance Films

Fabutan started in 1979, by Fabutan founder Bruce Puffer and in the space of six years; he grew the company from one tanning studio in Edmonton to a franchised enterprise with dozens of locations throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
Puffer sold the franchise operations in 1992 to Doug McNabb, then Fabutan's vice president of marketing. Under McNabb's leadership, Fabutan has become Canada's premier indoor tanning company with 147 studios nationally.
McNabb has been a leading spokesperson for the indoor tanning industry. He has consistently advocated a responsible approach to tanning. Every year, Fabutan sends out volunteers for summer Screen Patrol events to promote sun awareness and hand out on average 2,800 litres of sunscreen a summer.
As well, he has been instrumental in raising awareness regarding vitamin D deficiency in Canada and raising funds for further research into the fight against breast cancer. Fabutan has raised more than $500,000 for breast cancer advocacy and research in the past 8 years through its annual Ray of Hope campaign, alone.
