Crowd-sourced designer wins national competition

Markham resident creates design for Lamborghini that will represent Canada in North American race circuit in 2015.

TORONTO, Feb. 13, 2015 /CNW/ - Lamborghini Uptown Toronto unveiled a new design for its race team at a VIP reception held at the Canadian International Autoshow.

"We introduced a national contest last month to find a design for our V10 Gallardo that will make its debut on the North American circuit this summer," said Shawn Morris, Vice-President of Operations for Grand Touring Automobiles. "From the multiple submissions from across the country, we are pleased to introduce the winning design from Mike Chau of Markham, Ontario," announced Morris.

"I started designing vehicle graphics and car designs for fun when I was 16 and have been fortunate to have seen my designs on graphics for BMW, MINI, Honda, Scion, Lexus, Nissan, Audi and the Ferrari Challenge," said Chau. "This is the very first design contest I have ever entered and I'm so excited to see my design come to life at races on the North American circuit this summer," continued Chau.

For 2015, Lamborghini Uptown Toronto has partnered with Canadian-based Paragon Competition to create a truly Canadian entry into the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North American race series. The six events in the series will be held at world-class race facilities in the United States where venerated racing legends like Jacques Villeneuve, Mario Andretti and Michael Schumacher have graced the courses to make history.

"I love the new design and am really excited to see our team on the starting grid this May at Laguna Seca," said Joe Chan, Owner, Paragon Competition. "Congratulations to Mr. Chau for his winning design and to the team at Lamborghini Uptown Toronto for creating awareness for our team," continued Chan.

"For his efforts, I'm pleased to announce that Mike will win an all-expenses paid trip to join the team at his choice of Super Trofeo races, meet the team trackside and introduce his design in person to Lamborghini North America executives," announced Morris.
