My Baby's Having a Baby and Worst to First join Corus' growing distribution slate
TORONTO, March 31, 2016 /CNW/ - Corus Entertainment Inc. (CJR.B), a leading integrated media and content company, announced today that it will be adding two new unscripted lifestyle series to its growing library of Women and Family content: the emotionally charged docu-series My Baby's Having a Baby, which follows moms as their teenage daughters face motherhood; and a home renovation series that turns delusion to desire in Worst to First.
"These two new series are further evidence of our commitment to develop, produce and distribute universally relatable stories — whether it be building a family or building a dream home," said John MacDonald, Executive Vice President, Television, Head of Women and Family, Corus Entertainment.
My Baby's Having a Baby (10 x 60') — IN PRODUCTION
Dramatic and emotionally charged, My Baby's Having a Baby is a new and unique multigenerational take on the life-changing experience of teenage motherhood told from the point of view of a new grandmother and teen mom. Over six months, audiences will follow five families from Canada and the United States as they deal with births, babies, relationships, finances and graduating high school. At the best of times, the relationship between a teen and her mom is bumpy — add pregnancy and motherhood to that relationship and you've got a combustible, emotionally charged situation underpinned by unconditional love. Produced by Our House Media.
Worst to First (10 x 60') — IN PRODUCTION
Every day is a new, fun adventure for expert contractors Mickey and Sebastian. Brothers-in-law, business partners and best friends, these two young studs are making a career out of transforming dumpy fixer uppers. Now they're on a mission — find the worst houses in the best neighbourhoods in one of the most desirable cities in the world — Vancouver — and turn them into their client's dream come true. In each episode, the contractors are introduced to a new couple and a new challenge. After seeing Mickey and Sebastian's plans and weighing in all of the pros and cons, the family chooses their favourite and makes the purchase. This means 'go time' to racing the clock to pull off ambitious renovations. Produced by Great Pacific Media.
These new series join a growing slate of Corus' original unscripted lifestyle content that includes Masters of Flip, Buying the View and Cheer Squad (formerly Cheer Stars).
