Connect Hearing Debuts Quiet Choir for Better Hearing Health across Canada

Connect Hearing celebrates national Better Hearing & Speech Month, continuing its commitment to hearing care nationwide

VICTORIA, May 1, 2017 /CNW/ - Connect Hearing, Canada's No. 1 Physician Referred Hearing Healthcare provider, is pleased to announce the debut of its Quiet Choir to kick-off Better Hearing & Speech Month. The Quiet Choir was assembled to help demonstrate the importance of hearing health, and the difference it can make when you take care of yours. Through May, and year-round, Connect Hearing urges all Canadians to be proactive about their hearing health. Because hearing matters.

Today, nearly four million Canadians are living with some form of hearing loss, causing some disconnect from the world around them. Studies show that, on average, it takes approximately seven years before any action is taken to reverse or slow the process of hearing impairment. The Quiet Choir shines as a call of action to change that statistic, and connect Canadians through the power of sound.

"At Connect Hearing, we know that every sound, no matter how loud or how quiet, connects us to what matters most. Our hearing allows us to be fully engaged in our daily lives and connected to everything and everyone that matters," explains Jeremy Baxter, Vice President of Marketing, Connect Hearing. "The aim of our Quiet Choir is to give Canadians pause in a light-hearted manner about a serious issue. Too many Canadians are suffering unnecessarily, and we can help."

In celebration of Better Hearing & Speech Month, Connect Hearing worked with the University of British Columbia's a cappella group, the Unaccompanied Minors, to show passersby the importance of their hearing health, as well as that of their loved ones. You can view the experience here: http://www.year2hear.ca.

"Our Quiet Choir shows Canadians just one small way in which hearing loss affects all of our lives," says Sandra Fulton, Managing Director, Connect Hearing. "Our request is simple: come see us. There is no cost to have your hearing checked, and to discuss your hearing health with one of our professionals. Your hearing is precious, and we can help give you sound advice."
