Community Invited to Hawkesbury Day of Mourning Ceremony

HAWKESBURY,ON, April 26, 2017 /CNW/ - Area residents are invited to attend a Day of Mourning commemoration in Hawkesbury on Friday, April 28, to honour workers who have been killed or injured on the job.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at Place des Pionniers, 351 Main Street East, Hawkesbury. Following the event, guests and media will be invited for a light lunch at the United Steelworkers union hall.

WHAT:

Day of Mourning commemoration to honour workers who have been killed or injured on the job.



WHEN:

Friday, April 28, 2017 10:15-10:45 a.m., gather at United Steelworkers Hall, 250 Main St. E.
10:45 a.m., march to Place des Pionniers
11 a.m., ceremony begins at Place des Pionniers, 315 Main St. E.



WHERE:

Place des Pionniers, 315 Main Street East



WHO:

Workplace health and safety advocates, deceased and injured workers' families, community leaders and supporters.
