Communications professional? Join IABC/Montréal's Board of Directors

MONTRÉAL, March 24, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montreal chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is looking for experienced professionals to join its Board of Directors and help build, lead and grow the activities of the chapter in the Greater Montreal Area.

If you are interested in providing volunteer leadership to your industry colleagues, this might be the right move for you. Joining IABC/Montréal is a chance to serve with a team of professionals from across the city and around the world, to work from a different strategic perspective, gain experience on projects you may not have access to in your current job and earn recognition for your efforts at the international level.

Top 4 reasons why joining IABC/Montréal's Board of Directors is perfect for you and your career

4. This is your chance to serve with a team of professionals from across the city and around the world

Fact: Communication is a team sport.  Discover like-minded professionals with a passion for communication in Montréal and throughout IABC's international network.  Make new contacts, reactivate old ones, become a resource yourself, all in support of a good cause.

3. Gain experience on projects you may not have access to in your current job

Fact: Our profession is advancing at neck-breaking speed and it's really easy to get left behind. Volunteering in your field will help you keep those skills sharp and hack into new trends before they go mainstream.  Whether it's PR, advertising, sales, web, social media, digital marketing, governance or mentoring, we have a position for you.

2. Earn recognition for your efforts at national and international level

Fact: You'll be joining a Board that understands impact.  Earlier this year at the IABC Leadership Institute in Orlando, IABC/Montréal won three awards of excellence in the following categories: Student Relations, Communication and Financial Management. Help us keep and build on this wonderful momentum!

1. Provide volunteer leadership and help advance the communication profession

Fact: Let's face it, you're at a juncture. Your career will take off once you start giving back to the profession. If you're interested in providing volunteer leadership to your industry colleagues, joining our Board might be the right move for you. And that's the best reason to apply!

The deadline for submitting an application at iabc.montreal@gmail.com is April 20, 2015 at midnight. You must be an IABC member in good standing to be eligible for a Board position.
