OTTAWA, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner, Dr. Ann Cavoukian, is the conference co-chair and a keynote speaker at Privacy Security Trust 2010, a major international conference that opens Tuesday, August 17 at the University of Ottawa.
The Commissioner's keynote presentation at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday will emphasize the role that innovation must play in achieving positive-sum solutions in which privacy prospers alongside other interests, such as security. She will then lead a panel of successful Ontario pioneers in biometric encryption to demonstrate just how such innovations can be applied.
The theme for this year's three-day conference is Privacy, Security and Trust by Design: PbD - The Gold Standard.
The conference is being held at the Desmarais Building at the University of Ottawa. (For a map of the campus, with the Desmarais building marked, visit http://www.unb.ca/pstnet/pst2010/images/Parcs%20de%20Stationnement%20Mai%202009.pdf.)
