CIDCO and CARIS Partnership Announcement
QUEBEC CITY, June 22 /CNW Telbec/ - CIDCO (Interdisciplinary Center for the Development of Ocean Mapping) and CARIS, two Canadian organizations with expertise in marine geomatics, would like to announce an important partnership as the Canadian Hydrographic Conference 2010 is taking place in Quebec City.
CARIS as a manufacturer of marine GIS software and CIDCO as a research and transfer specialist in the fields of hydrographic data collection, data processing, and dissemination, saw mutual benefits in this partnership. CARIS will receive expert feedback from trained specialists at CIDCO, while for CIDCO, this offers an opportunity to access the latest commercial technologies and a direct line of communication with R&D and product development specialists.
Through this partnership, CIDCO plans to introduce CARIS to more Quebec-based small and medium companies and institutions. This relationship has already materialized into training sessions and initialized new innovative projects with Groupe Trifide and Nippour Géomatik.
Another example of collaboration is a joint R&D project between CARIS and CIDCO awarded by the National Reseach Council (NRC) for the validation of uncertainty models (TPU) for interferometric sidescan sonars.
Both organizations have already started benefiting from this partnership with measurable results and look forward to mutual long-term growth.
