MONTREAL, April 22, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - National Bank congratulates Caroline Vermette, Vice-President – Financial Performance Management, Financial Markets on winning the "Étoile Montante" award during the 11th Annual Gala of the Association of Québec Women in Finance (AFFQ). The Bank's internal Women's Leadership Network, which supports women in their progress within the company, also took top honours in the "Initiative for the Advancement of Women in Finance" category, presented for the first time this year. The prizes awarded by the AFFQ highlight women in finance who have stood out over the past year for their commitment, involvement and excellence, and recognize the quality of programs that promote the development of women in the industry.
"The Bank is proud that one of its leaders, Caroline Vermette, and its Women's Leadership Network have been recognized by the AFFQ," notes Lynn Jeanniot, Executive Vice-President – Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at National Bank. "Our institution is among the Canadian banks with the highest representation of women in management. This achievement can be chalked up to our gender equality practices, the contribution of the Women's Leadership Network and, of course, the talented women in our ranks."
Launched in 2012, the Women's Leadership Network was created for women pursuing their careers at National Bank who wish to move up within the organization. Through mentorships and networking activities, members of the Women's Leadership Network are able to increase their knowledge of the Bank, expand their professional network and improve their leadership skills. In addition to the "Initiative for the Advancement of Women in Finance" award, the Bank has received a number of accolades over the past year for the quality of its HR practices:
