LAKE COUNTRY, BC, Oct. 1 /CNW/ - CanScribe Career Centre (CanScribe), offering Canada's fully interactive online medical transcription program, is pleased to announce the renewal of its bursary commitment to the Minerva Foundation Education Awards Program for an additional three years. CanScribe will not only increase its sponsored award bursary amount to $2,000 from $1,500, but will also provide two bursary awards to Minerva, starting in 2010.
"CanScribe is proud to be aligned with the Minerva Foundation and believes strongly in the organization's mandate, which assists women in BC to further their education," said Colleen Gaudet, President and CEO of CanScribe Career Centre. "As one of only two private institutions in BC to offer Minerva Foundation Education Awards to women, CanScribe is committed to helping empower women to reach their full potential through personal and professional development."
The Minerva Foundation Education Awards Program was established with BC's post-secondary institutions to help BC women acquire education and skills to assist in finding meaningful work thus providing a better life for their children, ultimately enhancing the community as a whole.
"The Minerva Foundation sees education as a very important step towards the independence and leadership of women in their community," explained Eleanor Guerrero-Campbell, Executive Director of Minerva. "Awards, like the CanScribe Career Centre awards for the Medical Transcription course, open doors, reward hard work and relieve a lot of stress. They often come at a time when the recipient has given up hope of attaining an education. The recipients, who are single mothers, Aboriginal women and women with disabilities, are highly motivated, often achieving well beyond Minerva's expectations."
CanScribe Career Centre is one of the top Medical Transcription Schools. The CanScribe Medical Transcription course is recognized and endorsed by employers in Canada, the United States and Australia. MT service owners, editors and actual working medical transcriptionists with more than 100 years of combined experience developed this sought-after curriculum. The excellent training is coupled with a level of outstanding customer service, student and graduate support that is second to none.
