Canadian Olympic Committee Saddened by Death of Nodar Kumaritashvili

VANCOUVER, Feb. 12 /CNW/ - The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) was greatly saddened upon hearing the news of the tragic death of luge athlete Nodar Kumaritashvili, today at Whistler Sliding Centre. The native of Borjomi, Georgia crashed on the final turn of a training run this morning.

COC President Michael Chambers and Canadian Olympic Team Chef de Mission, Nathalie Lambert, have both reached out to their respective colleagues of the Georgian Olympic Team to personally express their condolences on behalf of the team, offering whatever assistance the team can possibly provide during this difficult time.
