VANCOUVER, June 21 /CNW/ - Mr. Ray Paquette CEO of Canadian Mining (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Livermore, of Reno, Nevada as an advisor and consultant to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Livermore is an American geologist who discovered or helped to discover four major gold deposits in northern Nevada. The Carlin deposit, from which the current Nevada gold-mining industry grew, was his first discovery. In 1961, after reading an article by Ralph J. Roberts, Alignment of Mining Districts in North-Central Nevada, and then hearing a talk by Roberts, Livermore, then a Newmont Mining geologist, pursued Roberts' theory to track down the 4 million ounce gold ore body now known as the Carlin Mine. The entire Carlin Trend has now produced well over 50 million ounces of gold.
John Livermore left Newmont Mining Company to become a successful mineral exploration consultant in private practice. He leads Public Resource Associates in Reno, Nevada, and is a benefactor to many geologic and engineering endeavors including endowed chairs and scholarship funds at the Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering.
Mr. Livermore brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in mining exploration and will be a valuable asset to Canadian Mining as the Company expands its detachment fault model holdings in and around its Bullard Pass Gold Project in Arizona.
The Company has granted to Mr. Livermore options to acquire up to 100,000 common shares at $0.10 per share for a five year period, in accordance with the Company's stock option plan.
