Canadian Alliance of Student Associations to Meet with Liberal Party Caucus

OTTAWA, Jan. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Alliance of Student Associations has been invited to participate in an economic roundtable with the Liberal Party Caucus entitled, "Beating the Jobless Recovery". CASA will be meeting with Michael Ignatieff and the Liberal Caucus today, Monday, January 25th, to discuss the challenges unemployment poses to post-secondary students across the country.

    Location: Center Block, Parliament Hill
    When: 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST

The unemployment rates for students this summer were the highest Canada has seen since 1977, causing many students to struggle to finance their schooling as the costs of a post-secondary education continue to rise.

Representatives of the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations will be available for comments after the meeting.

The Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit national student organization composed of 25 student associations, representing over 300,000 students from coast to coast.
