Canada's YTV Invites Grom Social Founder Zach Marks to Discuss Social Media Safety for Kids

15 Year-Old Social Networking Entrepreneur Is An Advocate For Promoting Safe Internet Practices Among Kids

TORONTO, Feb. 15, 2016 /CNW/ -- Grom Social (www.gromsocial.com and Grom Social mobile App) founder Zach Marks has been invited to Toronto by YTV to launch a national outreach campaign to invite Canadian youth to join Grom Social and educate children and families about safe online practices. Zach will be in Toronto from February 16 to 19. One of the highlights of his visit will be participating in two TV shows on YTV; The Zone and Code Kids, Canada's premiere national, kids-focused TV channel, watched by 11 million households. His invitation to appear on two YTV shows is a great way to enter the Canadian youth market, as it is watched by eleven million households. While largely unknown to the US market, YTV is a highly respected and much-loved part of the Canadian youth experience.   YTV is part of a family of kids-focused TV stations (Corus Entertainment) that also includes Nick and Cartoon Network. In addition, Zach has also been invited to The Morning Show and Breakfast TV, where he will address issues of safe and fun social networking for kids.

The 15 year-old entrepreneur has become an inspiring advocate for kids Internet and social media safety since he first launched Grom Social in 2012. Called the "Facebook for kids," Grom Social is a safe social networking site created By Kids For Kids that is used by over two million young people. In addition to the social networking site, the company has developed apps, games, and produces its own videos – all for kids!

"I've always believed that kids should lead the way in promoting online safety," said Marks. "We have a large responsibility on our shoulders to cultivate the future of social media.  With technology advancing at lighting speed, the time to start is now. Toronto is a tech-driven city and I am delighted to be a part of its efforts in spreading awareness about social responsibility and good digital citizenship."
