Canada's Waterways Provide Top Spots for Viewing Fall Colours


Discover Boating Canada Names Favourite On-Water Destinations to Enjoy Autumn Foliage

TORONTO, Sept. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Fall has arrived and one of the best ways to enjoy the season is by heading outdoors to catch unbeatable views of fall foliage from the unique vantage point of a boat. Cruising along picturesque waterways allows for spectacular shoreline panoramas of rich autumn colours.

"What better way to spend a crisp fall afternoon than aboard a boat taking in the vibrant colours of the season with your family and friends," said Tracey Hart, director for Discover Boating Canada. "Canadians have hundreds of scenic waterways across the country to take in the picture perfect fall season. We have put together a list of some of the best spots to view fall foliage from the water - while the colours last."

Muskoka, Ontario: One of the best ways to discover Muskoka's beauty is aboard a boat. The area encompasses 4000 square kilometres of trees, lakes and rivers. The combination of bright foliage and sparkling waters makes Muskoka a favourite region for boaters. For more information, visit

Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec:  With 15 kilometres of shoreline, the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean landscape is filled with a variety of beautiful autumn foliage.
