CALGARY, March 26 /CNW/ - Calgary Co-op has been the exclusive sponsor of the EMS Foundation program Project Smile for over 10 years. The program enables paramedics and EMTs to provide a stuffed medic moose toy to injured or ill children to help calm and comfort them when they are patients aboard an ambulance.
Each year, Calgary Co-op provides funds to the EMS Foundation to purchase a supply of the Medic Moose stuffed toys. Since becoming the exclusive sponsor in 2000, Calgary Co-op has donated over $270,000 to the EMS Foundation for this initiative.
On March 29th, Calgary Metro EMS will receive its latest shipment of Medic Moose. Media is invited to attend the official cheque presentation, photo and interview opportunity at 10:00 a.m. at the Calgary Co-op Macleod Trail Centre, 8818 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, with Sarah Boutron, manager of communications for Calgary Co-op, Stuart Brideaux, Director with the EMS Foundation, and the Calgary Metro EMS mascot, Medic Moose.
