Brands for Canada partners with Lifeline Syria to provide brand-new coats and other life basics to Syrian refugee families

TORONTO, Jan. 14, 2016 /CNW/ - Brands for Canada (formerly known as Windfall Basics), an award-winning registered charity, is pleased to partner with Lifeline Syria, to ensure that all refugees adapting to their new lives in the Greater Toronto area have the basic essentials as they make Toronto their new home. Beginning January 15, 2016, Syrian refugee families, referred by Toronto settlement agencies, will be welcomed at BFC's distribution warehouse and be provided with brand-new, brand name coats, clothing, and personal care items

"We have always supported new Canadians, both immigrants and refugees, through our distribution agencies," says Helen Harakas, BFC's Executive Director. "It's part of what we've done for 22 years."

"We're very pleased to be a part of this special humanitarian effort, at a time of such suffering and such hope.  We are especially grateful for the generosity of our existing donors, including Tide, Pantene, Pampers, Crest, Gap Inc.Canada, and Flow water, who have embraced this opportunity and have gone above and beyond with their donations of new items to help Toronto's new Syrian families."
