BNLMTL on until January 15, 2017, at the MAC - This holiday season, discover the world of La Biennale de Montréal

MONTREAL, Dec. 15, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - There's only one month left in La Biennale de Montréal's run at the MAC! This is your last chance to take in the MAC's must-see exhibition, showcasing art by the most influential contemporary artists in the world until January 15, 2017. With the holidays around the corner, the greatest visual creations have been collected under one roof in Montreal. What better time to come by the Musée with family or friends?

BNLMTL 2016 The Grand Balcony
With some 54 artists from 23 countries, BNLMTL 2016 The Grand Balcony offers Montrealers today's most relevant and cutting-edge contemporary art. Visitors at the MAC can now see all-new works specially commissioned from some of the biggest names in art, such as Éric Baudelaire, Valérie Blass, Nicole Eisenman, Janice Kerbel, David Tretiakoff and Luc Tuymans.

The powerful creations on display at BNLMTL 2016 Le Grand Balcon will surprise and challenge both neophytes and aficionados. Designed and orchestrated by Belgian curator Philippe Pirotte, BNLMTL is THE must-see art show of Montreal's cultural scene. People of all ages will discover an impressive array of artworks and media—film, painting, sculpture, photography—and experience a rewarding, unique event. According to La Presse, "La Biennale is a physical and spiritual experience. There is something to make everyone smile, dream, ponder, question and, even, react."

BNLMTL 2016 Le Grand Balcon is presented by La Biennale de Montréal and co-produced with the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal.

Holiday Combos: family fun and singing at the MAC
The holidays are all about good times. So the MAC is bringing back its Holiday Combos to once again give visitors a chance to learn more about contemporary art and have some family fun. Learn and laugh as the Holiday Combos combine guided tours of BNLMTL with fun workshop activities. This year, visitors are offered Home on the Range, an activity inspired by Myriam Jacob-Allard's Une voix me rappelle toujours. It's a chance for visitors to don their finest cowboy hat and belt out a country ditty, karaoke-style. Wild West disguises, props and ambiance will bring out the cowboy in everyone. The Holiday Combos are offered every Sunday afternoon in December at 1:30 and 2:30, as well as December 28 and 29 and January 4 and 5. Y'all are invited. No reservations needed.

The Musée Collection: For Time Is the Longest Distance Between Two Places
A visit to the Musée during the holidays also provides art lovers with a chance to discover the all-new exhibition dedicated to the MAC's permanent Collection: For Time Is the Longest Distance Between Two Places. Featuring about 20 of the 8,000-odd works from the Collection, the show is an expression of our need to define our relationship with time and space. Running until March 12, 2017, the exhibition—whose title is taken from The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams—juxtaposes the works of several artists, including Nicolas Baier, Patrick Bernatchez, Alain Paiement and Serge Tousignant.

The Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal has received funding from Québec's Ministère de la Culture et des Communications, under its program of support for permanent exhibitions.
