Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver Helps 51 Single Parent Families With Holiday Hamper Drive
VANCOUVER, Dec. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver raised money from generous donors to sponsor 51 single parent families and provide them with hampers filled with food and toys for the holiday season, relieving the stress of the holidays for these single low-income parents.
This year the applications for sponsorship came from single parent families ranging in size from one to five children. Unlike previous years, this year many families requested food over toys for their kids. Many families told Big Brothers that this year has been very hard and they needed the holiday help more than ever.
Thanks to the generosity of donors who sponsored family hampers through Big Brothers, 105 kids are going to have an amazing Holiday this year filled with presents and food.
