BEIJING, Sept. 18, 2016 /CNW/ -- In this Year of the Monkey, Beijing Capital Airlines Co., Ltd. ("Capital Airlines") joins hands with Paul Frank to give the cartoon character a home in the sky. By adorning the sides of the aircraft, the airline's fleet now bears the image of the famous simian. Newly painted planes were showcased at Haikou Meilan International Airport on September 10, marking the first time Capital Airlines has worked with the famous character.
Capital Airlines designed and built the airplane based on a theme revolving around Julius, the much-publicized Paul Frank monkey. Its image is placed on the outside of the plane, throughout the cabins and other onboard facilities. Paul Frank expects to enter into further similar creative collaborations with other airlines and become one of the most active groups in terms of the licensing of a cartoon image.
Capital Airlines spent a considerable amount of time and effort on the plane design with the goal of maximizing the visual impact. An environmentally-friendly paint was used for the outside of the aircraft, while cabins and other items, such as food packaging and the crew's uniforms, have been customized based on the theme. Capital Airlines also plans to work with premium airport lounges at major destinations along its routes by redecorating them with a Paul Frank theme.
